709a – Leeds City Art Gallery

Have a quick look around the main collections, although there are not many galleries open; some are locked up, some being rearranged, so it only feels like a small selection on display. However, what is on display is high quality. I especially like the Holman Hunt, Waterhouse and some very fine 20th century paintings. I don’t see any of the sculptures though; they must be hidden away! I also find it strange that the library is part of the same building and it is very easy to wander onto (all very Victorian). There is a very fine tiled hall which is now used as a lovely tea room.
