We decide to risk the weather and do the 7 mile walk along the coastal path. This turns out to be the right decision as the showers soon stop and we have glorious sunshine. I love this walk so much and am thrilled to be able to share it with Alex – love the nabs, lighthouse, cliffs. As we have the first buildings of Robin Hood’s Bay village in sight there is sudden thunder and lightening. We spot our X93 bus and make a run for it, just catching it as the heavens open – there is a massive downpour with the rain water even splashing up to the top of the double decker as we drive along.
Back in Scarborough we have a pub meal plus Alex goes for a late evening walk along the North Bay (I’m too tired) to round off his stay.
Sunday 17th June is packing and driving stress, but we make it to Birmingham coach station just in time for Alex to catch his 1.0pm coach back to Newport.
A super break, so thrilled to do the Brontes pilgrimage with Alex and for him to finally visit Scarborough and see a bit of the Yorkshire coast and countryside Just a shame it wasn’t a bit more relaxed as it was a full itinerary.
