Wednesday 19th September is taken up with the first of the boat trips. After the usual Turkish breakfast we walk into the main town area to catch the boat for the Twelve islands of Fethiye bay on the larger of the two wooden boats operated by Kardesler sailing trips. We bag a spot on the top lounge deck at 10.0am; it is in a corner and we are lucky not to have another person on the sun-bed next to us as it does get very full. The boat sets off at 10.30 for a full day, arriving back at the waterfront parade at 1820. We have four stops; Katranci island (enjoy a swim and snorkel here), then lunch on the move to Domuz Adasi (Aquarium) bay where we get off for a walk around, a stop at Tersane Adasi (Dockyard island) where we have another swim, and a final stop at Kizilada (Red island) where we stay on the boat but enjoy watching others jump and dive off the boat. It is very good value at 80TL each, although we have to pay for drinks, snacks, and we buy a CD of photos. The trip provides super views of the coastline and surrounding hills, very relaxing.
Afterwards we enjoy a meal at an Eastern Turkish restaurant called Mosaic, although there are a few short power cuts.
